Privacy Policy

The short version. You can use Nowbee without an account and without telling us anything about yourself. We do not store your email address. We do not store your location. There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind in the app. There are no public user profiles, and nobody can look you up or see where you are going.
This policy explains what Nowbee does with personal data, written so that you can actually check it against the app's behaviour. If something here does not match what you see, tell us — that is a bug in one of the two.
Who is responsible

Using Nowbee without an account
Browsing events needs no account. In this mode we hold nothing that identifies you. Your choices — the city you picked, your filters — stay on your device.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional. It exists so that saved events and followed venues survive a reinstall or a new phone. You sign in with Apple or Google; we never see or handle your password.
What we store when you do:

We do not store your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, that changes nothing for us — we did not have it either way.
The sign-in token that keeps you logged in is held in your device's secure storage (the Keychain on iOS), not on our servers.
Which links get tapped
When you tap through to a ticket, we count the tap. The record holds the event, the provider, which surface it came from (the app, or a shared link) and the time — and nothing about you: no account, no device, no IP address. It cannot be traced back to a person, including by us.
We keep it because a commission on those tickets is our only income, so we need to know which listings and which surfaces actually lead somewhere. It is a tally of events, not a record of readers.
Location
Nowbee sorts events by how close they are to you, so it asks for your location. The sorting happens on your phone. The app asks our servers for a city's events and works out the distances itself, so your coordinates are never sent to us — not in a request, not in a log, not to any record we keep about you. We do not build a history of where you have been.
Two things do need a point that leaves your phone, and the app asks you which one to use before either of them happens: the map, whose images come from OpenStreetMap (see the table above), and directions, which open in a maps app. You can pick a landmark in the city instead of your own position, which is what the app does by default; if you pick your own position for directions, nothing is sent at all — the maps app already knows where you are.
Location is entirely optional. If you decline, the app asks you to pick a city instead and works normally from there. You can change your mind at any time in your phone's settings.
Photos and videos
If you share a photo or video of a night out, it goes directly from your phone to wherever you choose to send it — Instagram, WhatsApp, your camera roll, whatever the share sheet offers. It is never uploaded to us, never stored by us and never shown to other Nowbee users. Nowbee only helps you pick the file and writes a caption.
What Nowbee deliberately does not do
Some of these are design decisions rather than promises about data handling, and they are the reason several risks in this category do not apply to us at all.
- No public profiles, no follower lists, no activity feed, no user search. The app knows where events are and, briefly, where you are. Making that discoverable by other people would create a route to following someone in real life. We will not build it.
- Plans you make are private. They are shared by link, with the people you send the link to. There is no "public plan" option.
- No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, no fingerprinting. The app contains no third-party tracking code of any kind.
- We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Other companies involved
Running the app means some data passes through services we do not own. These are the only ones:

Event listings themselves come from public sources, including Skiddle, and from the venues and businesses that publish with us. That is information about events, not about you.
Where your data is kept
Account data is stored in the United Kingdom (London) and the service that reads it runs in the European Union. We chose this deliberately: our users are in the UK, and we would rather their data stayed there.
Our company is established in Türkiye, so our staff access this data from outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Account data and your saved events: for as long as your account exists.
- Delete your account and it goes, along with your saved events and followed venues — here is how. Ask us at the address above and we will do it.
- Anonymous use leaves nothing to delete.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to our using it. You can also ask us to stop relying on your consent for location at any time — turning the permission off in your phone's settings does exactly that.
Write to info@kurabil.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Age
Nowbee is for adults: you must be 18 or over to use it, and a good deal of what it lists is age-restricted by the venues running it anyway. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change matters — new data collected, a new purpose — we will say so in the app rather than hoping you re-read the page.
